It’s Male Bonding Monday here at Sub Pop! And, what better way to kick a case of the Garfields?
First off, we’re giving away a free mp3 download of the song Year’s Not Long off the upcoming Male Bonding full-length record album debut Nothing Hurts. You may have recently read the “Best New Music” track review Pitchfork posted about this song, written by a guy with the unbelievably awesome name of Larry Fitzmaurice. If you have not, please do so now.
Also, and secondly (and regrettably without the endorsement of Maury Fitzlawrence), we are hereby and for one week only providing you with a full-album stream of this same Male Bonding record! This thing is embeddable, too, so if you’re into that kind of thing staaaaart embeddin’!
Nothing Hurts will be out on May 11th, and you can pre-order the album right now.
In other Male Bonding news, the band has teamed up with the Dum Dum Girls on a limited edition 7" for this year’s Record Store Day (April 17! Mark your calendars!). In celebration (and, yes, also promotion, we’re hoping…) of this release in particular and Record Store Day in general, both bands will be playing an in-store at Origami Vinyl in Los Angeles. That’s Saturday, April 17, 2010: Dum Dum Girls go on at 2:00 PM and Male Bonding plays at 3:00 PM. Full details on all of Sub Pop’s Record Store Day 2010 offerings are here.
