Today, June 25th, London artist Naima Bock has returned with a new single, “Rolling,” available now on all digital service providers worldwide from Memorials of Distinction/Sub Pop.
Naima offers this on the track, “‘Rolling’ is a song that didn’t quite fit into Below a Massive Dark Land, but I thought it was worth its own moment.” She continues, “Written on a train back from Glasgow to London, I’m sure its lyrics will resonate with some. If not, then that’s a good thing. Plus, if you listen to the whole thing, you’re rewarded with some expert jaw harp playing.”
Bock has confirmed a nine-date UK tour in October, beginning on October 12th in Brighton, with additional dates in London, Bristol, Edinburgh, and Liverpool. See below for a full run of shows.

On September 26th, Dublin band SPRINTS will release their sophomore record All That Is Overon Sub Pop for North America and City Slang for the rest of the world.
The groundwork that SPRINTS laid down with their 2024 debut, Letter To Self marked them as a musical triple threat amongst the alternative landscape: a visceral live band capable of selling out increasingly sizeable tours, who could earn five-star reviews and standout coverage in NME, DIY, Stereogum, Pitchfork, and PASTE. An Irish Choice Music Prize nod from critical corners but also land themselves on BBC Radio One. Throughout 2024 alone, they toured the UK, Europe, and America twice, ending the year with a celebratory, sold-out show at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town.
Their new album, All That Is Over, is a remarkable second effort that pushes the band’s dynamics into richer territory, finding new space and nuance while also going harder than ever.

More on All That Is Over: All That Is Over is a remarkable record in itself - a second album that pushes the dynamics of the band into richer territory, finding new space and nuance but also going harder than ever. However there’s a potency born from the “baptism of fire” beginnings of their current line-up that infuses SPRINTS’ second with a whole new energy. “By the time we ended up working on new stuff, we’d played so many shows together that the natural chemistry me, Karla and Sam had built up over years, Zac had very quickly developed too,” Jack says.
Where many bands would find themselves burnt out and needing a break after such a hectic period of time, in the midst of the whirlwind, Karla found herself becoming more prolific than ever. “There was just so much happening and so much to process,” she explains. “I was going through a big break up with my partner who I’d been with for eight years; Colm had left the band; we’d really progressed into being professional musicians, and I was at the start of a new relationship. But then you’d look outside and it’s like the world has never been uglier. I was writing every day because there was so much going on.”
It’s into this landscape of duality and disparity, anger, ambition and a thousand feelings in between that ‘All That Is Over’ lays out its cards. Its title is taken from a lyric at the centre of ‘Beg’: an uncompromising slice of propulsive punk that seeks the cleansing of new beginnings. Written on tour buses, in soundchecks and very much in real time, it’s an album set against the backdrop of a litany of atrocities - the war in Gaza, the wildfires in LA, Trump’s executive order denying the rights of trans people - that sees SPRINTS trying to make sense of a society gone mad. Forth Wanderers – Ava Trilling, Ben Guterl, Zach Lorelli, Noah Yu Schifrin, and Duke Greene – are sharing the animated visualizer for “Bluff,” a new song from The Longer This Goes On, available worldwide through Sub Pop on Friday, July 18th, 2025.
“Bluff” opens with the cool tones of the keyboard and auxiliary percussion, Trilling’s voice guiding the song through to its melancholic core. Under the watchful eye of producer Dan Howard, the song captures the band at their most present and unburdened, creating their sound in real time for the very first time. The visualizer is animated and directed by Guterl.
Last month, Forth Wanderers shared The Longer This Goes On release details with the Bandcamp-only “To Know Me/To Love Me,” and followed it up a few days later by the dizzying official video for “7 Months.”

The band’s fifth album and second for Sub Pop is a hugely creative and joyful statement about the joy of creativity. While the idea of the guy from Phish and the guy from Pavement sitting around with Guerilla Toss, congenially assembling sandwiches from random foodstuffs dug up from the depths of a studio fridge, might seem absurd, it also makes total sense. Because really, if there’s any band that serves as the natural bridge between slacker punks who saw Pavement way before you did, wild-eyed wooks who’ve seen Phish more times than you ever will, and even the eccentrics in ’90s drip following former GT tourmates Primus—it’s Guerilla Toss. A band so imaginative and unapologetically themselves, they’re basically the real-life manifestation of a utopian, post-snob world where all musical ideas are worthy of expression and everyone is welcome.
Today, the band has shared an animated video for their new single, “Red Flag to Angry Bull,” which builds to a campfire sing-along-worthy outro featuring Malkmus and Carlson duetting over a chatty, classically Phish-y (there’s really no better word for it) solo from Anastasio. The band notes that the humble Anastasio was both shocked and honored when asked to contribute, proof that even music legends can feel like outsiders deep into their careers. The resulting cacophony of voices is triumphant and joyful, underscoring music’s power as a mode of expression and connection—communication at its purest and most free-flowing. On September 19th, 2025, Nation of Language will release Dance Called Memory, their fourth album and full-length Sub Pop debut. The 10-track effort was recorded, produced, and mixed by returning producer and collaborator Nick Millhiser in New York City and mastered by Heba Kadry in Brooklyn. Dance Called Memory features the current breakout radio single “Inept Apollo,” along with highlights ‘Under the Water,” “In Your Head,” “Silhouette,” and today’s offering, “I’m Not Ready for the Change” with an official video from director John MacKay.
Synthpop, minimal wave, post-punk, goth, new romantic — fans and critics alike have dug deeply into their vintage thesauruses to describe the beguiling work of Nation of Language. And if you can’t precisely define the band, that’s the point. Frontman Ian Richard Devaney has become prodigious in expanding what synthesizer-driven music can evoke, such that his output is as much an extrasensory journey as it is an all-too-human destination. With that experience in mind, he wrote the band’s fourth album — the spectral, spacious Dance Called Memory — in the most humble of ways: chipping away at melancholia by sitting around and strumming his guitar.
Nation of Language’s first three albums, Introduction, Presence (2020), A Way Forward (2021), and Strange Disciple (2023) came as pandemic-era godsends: gorgeous, relatable soundtracks to our collective doldrums.
On Dance Called Memory, Nation of Language once again collaborated with friend and Strange Disciple producer Nick Millhiser (LCD Soundsystem, Holy Ghost!). “What’s so great about Nick is his ability to make us feel like we don’t need to do what might be expected of us,” says synth player Aidan Noell, who, along with bassist Alex MacKay, rounds out the Nation of Language lineup. They imbued Dance Called Memory with a shifted palette — for example, smashing all of the percussion of “In Another Life” through a synthesizer to cast a shade of early-2000s electronic music or by sampling chopped-up drum breaks on “I’m Not Ready for the Change,” for a touch of Loveless-era My Bloody Valentine.
Ultimately, the hope was to weave raw vulnerability and humanity into a synth-heavy album. “There is a dichotomy between the Kraftwerk school of thought and the Brian Eno school of thought, each of which I’ve been drawn to at different points. I’ve read about how Kraftwerk wanted to remove all of the humanity from their music, but Eno often spoke about wanting to make synthesized music that felt distinctly human,” Devaney says. “As much as Kraftwerk is a sonically foundational influence, with this record I leaned much more towards the Eno school of thought. In this era quickly being defined by the rise of AI supplanting human creators I’m focusing more on the human condition, and I need the underlying music to support that… Instead of hopelessness, I want to leave the listener with a feeling of us really seeing one another, that our individual struggles can actually unite us in empathy (read full bio at Sub Pop).”
Nation of Language has also added a few new shows to their previously announced international headlining tour dates in North America, the EU, and the UK for the fall of 2025.
The North American shows begin on Thursday, August 21st in Hamden, CT at Space Ballroom and run through Thursday, October 30th in Washington, DC at 9:30 Club. Highlights for this leg include a hometown, three-night stand September 18th-20th at Brooklyn’s Warsaw and a two-night stand on Wednesday, October 15th and Thursday, October 16th at The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles.
Nation of Language’s UK and EU trek now starts with the addition of the second Dublin, IE show on Thursday, November 6th at Opium and ends Friday, November 28th in Lisbon, PT at LAV. The band will also headline some of their largest UK/EU venues to date on this run, including The Roundhouse in London on Wednesday, November 8th, and Columbiahalle in Berlin on Friday, November 21st.
