PERHAPS YOU’VE NOTICED THAT 2005 IS, HOW YOU SAY, AWESOME?

It’s true! Not to pat ourselves on the proverbial ass, but our releases were miiiighty fine last year, and we couldn’t be more pumped about the year ahead. Perhaps you’ve already noticed that, as per usual, we’re committed to putting out only the very, very FINEST? Just check out what we’ve already done, and what’s to come:
A. WE DROPPED THE HOT HITS FROM LOW & JENNIFER GENTLE IN JANUARY!Low’s The Great Destroyer, the Duluth, MN-based legends’ first full-length for Sub Pop, has been kickin’ tail all over this land, and with good reason. Did you notice that they’ve been #1 on the CMJ Top 200 for the past two weeks in a row? Or that they’ve been getting a bunch of killer press? The Onion even said that “Low has found new ways to eke dynamic moments out of lingering notes,” and they’re not even joking like those pranksters usually do. May I suggest you check out our newest MP3, “California”,here? After you’re done doing that, please look to your right and read the SIDEWALK column on our newest Italian brothers, Jennifer Gentle! They’ve been getting some super-killer press, too. And we’ll let you know as soon as they tour the states!B. FEBRUARY BRINGS YOU THE NEW POSTAL SERVICE SINGLE AND THE NEW IRON AND WINE EP!You know you want both of ‘em. Although no PS touring will happen for a looooong time (we told you that last week when you asked, friend), Jimmy T. and Ben G. sure do have a new jam for you, “Be Still My Heart” off of the new single for “We Will Become Silhouettes”. And Sam Beam, that bearded gent, brings his swampitude up another ninety million notches with Woman King; the title track would make Levon Helm and Sonny Boy Williamson proud as peacocks. Listen for Sam’s sister, Sarah’s sweet vocals!Stay tuned for news on March’s release of the debut Sub Pop full-length from Seattle’s own purveyors of skronk thrash, the A-Frames.
