Today, June 10th, Iron & Wine returns with a vibrant new single, “Robin’s Egg” which features the three-part harmonies of I’m With Her. I’m With Her is comprised of Sarah Jarosz, Aoife O’Donovan, and Sara Watkins - each individual stars in their own right – whom just released a brand new record, Wild and Clear and Blue, last month to critical acclaim and praise. The two bands will be joining forces this July for a series of shows and “Robin’s Egg” serves as a highlight to what should be an anything-goes, cross-collaborating evening of music.
The forthcoming tour takes its name from said track and is the perfect pollination of each band’s signature style. Not too sweet, not too spicy, perfect for summer days. The track was written and produced by Iron & Wine’s creative force and principal singer-songwriter, Sam Beam, and is an early preview of the band’s still-in-the-making forthcoming record.
Of the song, Beam said: “I had the start of ‘Robin’s Egg’ kicking around and began finishing the tune earlier this year with I’m With Her in mind. We had already started to plan our summer tour together; I passed it to them with the hope they were up for adding their voices to it and lucky for me they were! I’m looking forward to performing it, and a few other surprises, with them this summer.”
You can watch the official music video, animated and created by Lizi Breit, here.
Iron & Wine have maintained an active touring schedule since the release of 2024’s Grammy-nominated Light Verse. The Robin’s Egg Tour begins in July and ends with both bands triumphantly returning to the Newport Folk Festival stage, where anything can, and often does, happen!
Iron & Wine will continue to tour through the end of the year with a series of festival plays and a co-headline west coast run with former labelmates and longtime friends, Band of Horses. See below for a complete list of dates.

“Robin’s Egg” follows the 2024 acclaimed release of Light Verse, which features the Grammy-nominated duet with Fiona Apple, “All in Good Time.” The album received accolades from Uncut, Mojo, Clash and NPR New Music Friday who shared “my favorite moments on the album are where you hear those studio dynamics, where the quiet erupts into this chamber ensemble piece with these big shifting movements… it can go from everything from somber to nearly euphoric in its run, and I love that about it.”
Praise for Iron & Wine Light Verse: “A collection of songs bursting with surprises, reflecting the optimism of the album’s title, and a songwriter rejuvenated.” 8/10 - Uncut
“It’s magnificent… It starts hushed and intimate (You Never Know), then as the band gradually comes in, it takes on a beautiful lushness throughout. Highlights include the lovely harmonies on Tears That Don’t Matter and All in Good Time, a soulful, churchy duet with Fiona Apple.” ★★★★ - MOJO
“Gorgeous… Iron & Wine proves he still has much to say in a hypnotic record full of lush production, highlighting the warmth and timelessness of his vocals.” 8/10 - CLASH
“Stunning… an album that straddles Iron & Wine’s earlier, stripped-down work and his later, more layered tunes. The gorgeous Sweet Talk and All in Good Time are particularly reminiscent of the former, while Tears That Don’t Matter is Beam at his most dynamically majestic.” ★★★★ - Record Collector
“Quirky yet profound, playful but often deeply moving… The ten tracks on Light Verse glow with the a rejuvenated joy and infectious creative energy.” 8/10 - The Line of Best Fit
“Beam has done this kind of thing before, but he seems to be digging a little deeper lyrically here, while crafting arrangements that are truly lush and lovely, better than any on previous Iron & Wine albums. That’s a high bar, but he soars over it with plenty of room to spare, and in the end Light Verse turns out to be one of the most enjoyable, varied, and well-crafted of the band’s records.” ★★★★ - All Music
“This time Beam worked alongside a handful of Los Angeles-based musicians and producer Dave Way (John Doe, Macy Gray) in his Laurel Canyon studio, and the bones of the songs on Light Verse are both looser and more freely experimental, often conjuring up a more ramshackle version of the layered psych-pop elements of 2007’s The Shepherd’s Dog.” - No Depression
Guerilla Toss have announced their new long-player, “You’re Weird Now,” available worldwide on CD/LP/Digitally on September 12th from Sub Pop. The band’s fifth album and second for Sub Pop is a hugely creative and joyful statement about the joy of creativity. With You’re Weird Now Guerilla Toss reclaim the word “weird” for everyone brave enough to let their freak flag fly and stay true to their artistic vision no matter what—a way riskier act than it’s ever given credit for, and one that requires a certain amount of serene self-confidence that it takes time and effort to cultivate and sustain.
While in Vermont recording their new full-length album, frontwoman Kassie Carlson would prepare what she called ‘punk lunch’: a communal meal made by raiding the studio fridge for whatever was left and assembling a sandwich from the most random ingredients imaginable.
Regularly joining punk lunch were two legends from their own corners of the weird music world: Stephen Malkmus (Pavement, The Jicks) and Trey Anastasio, Phish guitarist and owner of The Barn, the recording studio where Guerilla Toss made You’re Weird Now, with Malkmus in the producer’s seat. Engineer Bryce Goggin, who has worked with Malkmus since Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain, and Ben Collette, Phish’s longtime engineer at The Barn.
While the idea of the guy from Phish and the guy from Pavement sitting around with Guerilla Toss, congenially assembling sandwiches from random foodstuffs dug up from the depths of a studio fridge, might seem absurd, it also makes total sense. Because really, if there’s any band that serves as the natural bridge between slacker punks who saw Pavement way before you did, wild-eyed wooks who’ve seen Phish more times than you ever will, and even the eccentrics in ’90s drip following former GT tourmates Primus—it’s Guerilla Toss. A band so imaginative and unapologetically themselves, they’re basically the real-life manifestation of a utopian, post-snob world where all musical ideas are worthy of expression and everyone is welcome.
Today, the band has shared an animated video for their new single, “Red Flag to Angry Bull,” which builds to a campfire sing-along-worthy outro featuring Malkmus and Carlson duetting over a chatty, classically Phish-y (there’s really no better word for it) solo from Anastasio. The band notes that the humble Anastasio was both shocked and honored when asked to contribute, proof that even music legends can feel like outsiders deep into their careers. The resulting cacophony of voices is triumphant and joyful, underscoring music’s power as a mode of expression and connection—communication at its purest and most free-flowing. You can watch this conscientious expanding video here.
“Red Flag to Angry Bull” follows the release of the pre-album launch single. “Psychosis Is Just a Number,” a glittering no-wave skronk anthem about staying present in the chaos - imagine post-punk Pylon meeting the cheerleaders from the “Smells Like Teen Spirit” video, but they’re obsessed with The Contortions.
Guerilla Toss has announced a 28-date North American run, beginning on September 12th and running through October 19th. About You’re Weird Now:
When NYC-based experimental dance punks Guerilla Toss, active since time immemorial aka 2011, were in Vermont recording their new full-length album You’re Weird Now, frontwoman Kassie Carlson would prepare what she called ‘punk lunch’: a communal meal made by raiding the studio fridge for whatever was left and assembling a sandwich from the most random ingredients imaginable.
Regularly joining punk lunch were two legends from their own corners of the weird music world: Stephen Malkmus (Pavement, The Jicks) and Trey Anastasio, Phish guitarist and owner of The Barn; the recording studio where Guerilla Toss were making You’re Weird Now, with Malkmus in the producer’s seat. Engineer Bryce Goggin, who has worked with Malkmus since Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain, and Ben Collette, Phish’s longtime engineer at The Barn, were also part of the crew.
You’re Weird Now powers this message. Guerilla Toss’ fifth album and second for Sub Pop is a hugely creative and joyful statement about the joy of creativity. On September 26th, Dublin band SPRINTS will release their sophomore record All That Is Overon Sub Pop for North America and City Slang for the rest of the world.
The groundwork that SPRINTS laid down with their 2024 debut, Letter To Self marked them as a musical triple threat amongst the alternative landscape: a visceral live band capable of selling out increasingly sizeable tours, who could earn five-star reviews and standout coverage in NME, DIY, Stereogum, Pitchfork, and PASTE. An Irish Choice Music Prize nod from critical corners but also land themselves on BBC Radio One. Throughout 2024 alone, they toured the UK, Europe, and America twice, ending the year with a celebratory, sold-out show at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town.
Their new album, All That Is Over, is a remarkable second effort that pushes the band’s dynamics into richer territory, finding new space and nuance while also going harder than ever.
Today, the band has shared an official video, directed by Niamh Bryson, for their debut offering, “Descartes.” Inspired by a line in Rachel Cusk’s novel Outline - “Vanity is the curse of our culture” - it switches up the philosopher’s famous “I think therefore I am” into SPRINTS frontperson Karla Chubb’s own raison d’etre: “I speak so therefore I understand”. “A lot of the negativity you see in the world is rooted in vanity and the ego that your beliefs or identity are more important than somebody else’s,” she says. “‘Descartes’ explores the idea that writing for me is not just a tool to make music but a tool to process the world.” Clickhereto watch.

SPRINTS All That Is Over is now available to preorder on CD/LP/DSPs from Sub Pop in North America and City Slang for the rest of the world. LP orders from both labels will receive the album on a limited edition marbled coral pink vinyl (while supplies last).
More on All That Is Over: All That Is Over is a remarkable record in itself - a second album that pushes the dynamics of the band into richer territory, finding new space and nuance but also going harder than ever. However there’s a potency born from the “baptism of fire” beginnings of their current line-up that infuses SPRINTS’ second with a whole new energy. “By the time we ended up working on new stuff, we’d played so many shows together that the natural chemistry me, Karla and Sam had built up over years, Zac had very quickly developed too,” Jack says.
Where many bands would find themselves burnt out and needing a break after such a hectic period of time, in the midst of the whirlwind, Karla found herself becoming more prolific than ever. “There was just so much happening and so much to process,” she explains. “I was going through a big break up with my partner who I’d been with for eight years; Colm had left the band; we’d really progressed into being professional musicians, and I was at the start of a new relationship. But then you’d look outside and it’s like the world has never been uglier. I was writing every day because there was so much going on.”
It’s into this landscape of duality and disparity, anger, ambition and a thousand feelings in between that ‘All That Is Over’ lays out its cards. Its title is taken from a lyric at the centre of ‘Beg’: an uncompromising slice of propulsive punk that seeks the cleansing of new beginnings. Written on tour buses, in soundchecks and very much in real time, it’s an album set against the backdrop of a litany of atrocities - the war in Gaza, the wildfires in LA, Trump’s executive order denying the rights of trans people - that sees SPRINTS trying to make sense of a society gone mad. What people are saying about SPRINTS: “This memorable and arrestingly bleak debut LP feels like a loud announcement of a striking new band (…) If you ever suspected this current wave of Irish guitar music had peaked with the likes of Fontaines D.C. and The Murder Capital, think again.” ★★★★★ NME
Letter to Self is a bracing, frantic record designed for both thrashing mosh pits and solo meltdowns, best heard with the volume turned up loud.“ Pitchfork
“One of the most exciting young rock bands in the world… one that could hold their own alongside some of their most fiercely beloved inspirations. Run, don’t walk, to hear them as soon as you can.” “Album of the Week,” Stereogum
“Savage art-punk from Dublin four-piece… Sprints’ debut delivers on thrilling live shows, with singer, guitarist and songwriter Karla Chubb providing a visceral fury.” 8/10, Uncut
“Confrontational, ferocious and bold… an unaffected and exhilarating debut album.” “Album of the Week” - 8/10, Loud & Quiet
“Musical exorcism at its very best, rallying against socially-imposed doubt and anxiety and – in its unique horror – finding welcome moments of inner peace.” ★★★★★ DIY
“Colossally exciting.” ★★★★ MOJO
“A red-hot debut album… Is it possible to have an album of the year contender on only the first week in? Of course it is.” 9/10, CLASH

Today, June 25th, London artist Naima Bock has returned with a new single, “Rolling,” available now on all digital service providers worldwide from Memorials of Distinction/Sub Pop.
Naima offers this on the track, “‘Rolling’ is a song that didn’t quite fit into Below a Massive Dark Land, but I thought it was worth its own moment.” She continues, “Written on a train back from Glasgow to London, I’m sure its lyrics will resonate with some. If not, then that’s a good thing. Plus, if you listen to the whole thing, you’re rewarded with some expert jaw harp playing.”
Bock has confirmed a nine-date UK tour in October, beginning on October 12th in Brighton, with additional dates in London, Bristol, Edinburgh, and Liverpool. See below for a full run of shows.

“Rolling” follows the release of Bock’s 2024 record, Below a Massive Dark Land, her sophomore effort, which Uncut gave an 8/10, citing, “what is abundantly clear is that Bock’s creative star is very much with her.”
What People Are Saying About Naima Bock Below a Massive Dark Land: “Amid a flurry of excellent new tracks ahead of Naima Bock’s second album, the romantic, timeless sweep of ‘Kaley’ is the pick of the bunch, that rich and resonant vocal playing magically off a melodic, punchy line of saxophone.” ‘Best of the Month’ - The Quietus
★★★★ MOJO
“A folky hymn to regret with a lovely, loping pace and sweetly lazy horn refrain” [“Feed My Release”] The Guardian
“…Features the kind of compelling vocal performance and lush, classy pop-rock orchestration we’ve come to expect from the British-Brazilian singer-songwriter.” [“Feed My Release”] STEREOGUM
“Marked by inner strength, the pervasive musicality of Naima’s work reaching fresh heights” [“Gentle”] CLASH
“Bock’s somnambulant vocals here bounding over a jubilant burst of fuzzy guitar and saxophone. It’s ace.” [“Kaley”] The New Cue
“Fans of Naima’s earlier work, and frankly that should be all of you, will be delighted with the familiar playful instrumentation, and swaying majesty of the choruses, while those looking for something new will be delighted by the subtle choppiness of the rhythms” [“Kaley”] For The Rabbits
“Horns blaze away, powering a glorious melody allowing Naima Bock the freedom to show off the potency of her vocal range. Make no mistake, it’s a cracker.” [Kaley] “Tracks of the Week” God Is In The TV
“…The close quarters echo the intimacy of Kline’s early bedroom recordings, but a decade removed from her debut, her twee quirks have hardened into revealing idiosyncrasies… Singing with a sweet weariness, Kline can seem bemused by her melancholia, her resigned acceptance given an appealing warmth by a band whose gentle sway lends her pop miniatures depth.” - [4 out 5] MOJO Magazine
“Greta Kline’s four-piece continue to mature on this thoughtful sixth album, which sees the songwriter wrestle with the growing challenges of life as she enters her early thirties… These issues, dramatic or otherwise, unfold against an exquisitely cute jangle-pop backdrop, where simple, pure melodies meet bracingly short and uncluttered arrangements.” - Uncut Magazine
“Leaning in to the band’s strengths, you can hear aspects of Guided By Voices in their stubborn unwillingness to conform to the rules.” - [“Vanity”] Clash
“Kline’s oeuvre chronicles over a decade’s worth of personal and professional growth, neatly packaged into light-hearted ditties and passionate rock songs” - The Line of Best Fit
“Different Talking brings together soft indie rock influences and sways like the wind on a summer’s day.. An elaborate and well produced collection of songs. Seventeen tracks of hazy alternative anthems” - [4 out of 5] Narc Magazine
Today, June 27th, Frankie Cosmos has released Different Talking, their sixth and, so far, best album from Sub Pop. It’s a collection of fragments and memories, remembered places, and reinterpreted feelings that adds up to a lucent, humming whole: a sturdy, worldly indie-rock record about aging and the passage of time that nonetheless manages to feel sharply current. The album includes the previously released singles, “Pressed Flower,”“Bitch Heart” and “Vanity” which Stereogum described as “…bigger and more complex than most of what we’ve heard from Frankie Cosmos in the past, without sacrificing the innate warm, DIY quality of Kline’s songwriting.”
Today, the band has shared one final video, a double video for their songs “One of Each” and “Against The Grain,” which was directed by Matthew Volz. Watch here.
As previously announced, the band will embark on a World Tour, with North American dates scheduled to run from September 3 to October 25. Fantasy Of A Broken Heart and Moontype will support the first leg, from September 3 to September 20, and Chris Cohen & Emily Yacina will support the second leg, from October 9 to October 25. The band will then return to the UK and EU for 7 shows with Babehoven on main support. See below for a complete list of shows.
