WE’RE HIRING: Streaming and Digital Promotions Manager (May 2025)

Sub Pop Records (with headquarters in Seattle, WA) is currently searching for an organized, self-motivated, experienced individual to become our full-time Streaming and Digital Promotions (“SDP”) Manager. The SDP Manager position will be based in LA, working both remotely and from our LA office. This position will head up our interactions and presentations with the LA offices of Spotify, Apple, YouTube, and others.

The SDP Manager oversees pitching and strategy of all Sub Pop and Hardly Art releases at DSPs/digital music accounts, and works with Sub Pop’s Audience Development team to support music and video offerings at social accounts that have revenue-generating programs. They also work with the Digital Operations team to coordinate digital assets and set-up for all releases, and to gather assets that may be required for on-platform advertising or marketing. They also handle the hybrid sales/marketing/social YouTube account, managing Sub Pop’s YouTube presence, strategy, and analysis.
DSPs
Coordinate with VP of Sales on strategy for DSP conversations for all Sub Pop and Hardly Art releases. For key releases, send long lead music and email with key marketing points to initiate account marketing plan. Coordinate pitching strategy on weekly calls: servicing specific editors, identifying playlist targets, marketing drivers and evaluating analytics.
Manage digital pitching assets, including Apple, Spotify, and Amazon pitch tool, Youtube pitch tool, etc.
Send weekly update emails to Spotify, Apple, Amazon, Youtube, Tik Tok, Vevo, and Sonos with upcoming Sub Pop and Hardly Art track releases for the following 2 weeks. Follow-up on Thursdays with press, radio, marketing drivers, etc.
Send advance album links to DSP contacts for upcoming releases.
Participate in standing meetings with DSP reps (Spotify, Apple, Youtube, TikTok, Vevo)
Coordinate with the artist teams to maintain artist profiles on DSPs making sure all collateral (photos, bio, playlist, links, etc.) are current. Work with artists/managers for DSP and YouTube backend/admin access.
Coordinate with other US and ex-US Sub Pop team members in pitching to secondary and ex-US accounts.
Upload Spotify Canvas, Clips and Countdown.
Where possible, develop in-person relationships with label relations and programming teams at key DSPs including meeting at shows, industry events, etc.
Coach artists on DSP best practices and distribute DSP onboarding email to educate managers/artists.
Send US placement email updates to marketing staff, artist/manager teams for social sharing and maintain same info in weekly marketing notes.
YouTube
Determine YouTube strategy for all Sub Pop and Hardly Art releases including channel for video hosting, video publication strategy, etc.
Strategize to build subscription base for Sub Pop channel. Audit top 150 videos (standardize descriptions, update links if new music is out, add cards). Strategize to create community on Sub Pop YouTube channel
Update video description, video tags, video title, upload subtitle files, upload thumbnails, etc.
Set up YouTube video premieres manually, set up timed publishing of all other videos
Maintain relationships with YouTube reps to pitch artists for YouTube Marketing opportunities.
Coach artists on use of YouTube community pages, YouTube Shorts and profile management.
Submit artist channels for Official Artist Channel verification.
Social Music Accounts
Develop contacts with label relations teams at TikTok, Meta, Snap, and more as they come online.
Develop familiarity with features: TikTok banner, TikTok live, TikTok shop, Snap lens, Meta lens, Playlisting etc. Learn the landscape of these accounts, spending time on the services as a user, digging into analytics, monitoring what other artists are doing and pitching for opportunities.

Salary Range:
$60,000-$75,000/yr
