From our good friends at Seattle City of Music:
The City of Music Internship is a unique opportunity for individuals who are interested in the music industry and its many moving gears. Two interns will be accepted per a 12-month program, which is divided into four internship experiences with four different businesses. Interns will spend three months at each business.
Thetwo interns will work with KEXP, a Seattle-based non-profit radio station; Seattle Theater Group (STG), a non-profit arts organization which operates historic theaters; Sub Pop Records, a legendary record label that has been signing artists and selling records since 1988; and Rhapsody, an online music service. Each of these organizations will have a point supervisor for the three-month duration that the intern is with the company. Interns will work at each respective organization for a three-month period, with a week in-between each phase of the internship.
The goal of the City of Music Internship is to work with capable and interested individuals to better their understanding of how different organizations in Seattle work directly with artists, and how each of the companies market and support the artists’ vision and careers. By bringing interested people into a diverse learning experience, we intend to foster talent into Seattle’s music industry. Furthermore, we hope that every individual who completes the program will come away from the internship with a broadened perspective on Seattle’s music and the many organizations that maintain its importance as a staple of the city’s culture.
For consideration, the application deadline is Friday, November 14 at 11:59 pm
