Mogwai are back with another music video for the Rave Tapes album track, “Simon Ferocious”. It stars a couple of skydivers and the utterly massive sound of the music of Mogwai. A feast for your eyes and ears is just a click away. Speaking of Mogwai (which this blog post is dedicated to doing), the band is on a rare jaunt across the pond to the good ol’ U. S. of A. Catch them if you can, it’s an unforgettable experience.

The follow-up to Mogwai’s excellently named and even more excellently music’d record Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will has gotten a name and an official birth date. Rave Tapes will come out on Sub Pop Records on January 21st, 2014, and there are a few things about it that we want you to know about it.
First of all, like all of our records, if you pre-order the LP, you’ll receive the limited, colored-vinyl Loser Edition of the record. Secondly, you will receive a limited-edition Mogwai 7” with your order. This is great news for people who enjoy very cool and very limited things! But, as with all limited and cool things, this is a first come, first served offer. Meaning, when we’re out, we’re out, so order soon! Thirdly, there will be a limited-edition, deluxe LP box set of Rave Tapes available for pre-order at some point in the very near future! If you would like more info on the box set, email us at email@example.com, and we’ll email you when we have more info!
Mogwai have kept themselves pretty busy since 2011’s fantastic Hardcore Will Never Die But You Will, having released an EP, a remix record, and now a full-length score for a French television show about zombies (Zombies: the new vampires? Think on it. Or not. I guess it doesn’t matter.) called Les Revenants. The album aptly shares the name of the television show that it scored and is available via CD, LP, and digital.
We’re not sure how Mogwai keeps cranking out this much music, but as long as the quality consistently blows away all expectation, we’re just going to keep listening.
