This upcoming Friday, June 28th from 5-8pm, we have an exciting proposition for you relating to the official, “Big, Hard Launch Event” for the actual, physical, Sub Pop Mega Mart. If you’re precious about your Friday evenings, then you’re likely wondering to yourself, “Why all the hubbub, Sub Pop?!”, GOODQUESTION! Here’s why all the hubbub: Troy & Sharlese from our beloved KEXP radio station will be on hand DJ’ing the event; Top Pot is providing free, Friday night donuts; there could very well be free beverages; limited-edition SP merch currently only available at the Mega Mart is for sale; and some rare, out-of-print Sub Pop vinyl will be available, too. One thing is certain: it will be very fun. Also, free.
This temple of commerce is temporarily available to you, the Seattle-based music connoisseur, until July 21st.
As the subject of this post says, we’re on a holiday-style hiatus until January 7rd, 2013 celebrating whatever it is we’re celebrating (mainly, just having time off). When we return, we’ll be getting online orders out, answering emails, voice mails, and snail mails as fast as we can, and generally looking forward to another year of some really, really (really!) good records.
The loving staff of Sub Pop Records
PS: Don’t forget that all orders over $20 are 20% off until January 7th!
Just in case you missed the big Beach House news yesterday, we’re gonna give it to you again! Fans can now pre-order the band’s May 15, 2012 release Bloom from iTunes (Pre-order Bloom from iTunes and get a download of the song “Myth” instantly), Amazon, Insound, (Pre-order from Insound and get a free Beach House poster) and Sub Pop. Fans who pre-order the vinyl LP format of the new record directly from Sub Pop will receive the limited, white vinyl Loser Edition. All pre-orders (CD and LP) will receive a bonus poster. A new Bloom t-shirt design is also available for pre-order from subpop.com.
Hey there e-shopper! We’ve had a busy year here at the Sub Pop International Headquarters of America and are taking a holiday-style break starting Monday the 22nd of December.
Please, do not fear. We will still be taking online orders at this time for your various Sub Pop needs and desires, but we won’t be shipping them until after the New Year. We are going to take this time to get some much needed R&R before regrouping and totally doing it again in 2009.
Starting with our first release in 2007 (the new Shins record) and continuing on until such time as we lose interest or forget, if/when you buy a Sub Pop release in the vinyl format, you will find a coupon enclosed. And on this coupon will be instructions, a url and a unique code for you to download the mp3s for the album you’ve purchased.
Please note that these coupons, and their associated access to free mp3s, will not magically (or otherwise) appear in albums released before January of 2007.
There is some more info on all this business here.
