Listen to Lee Bains III & The Glory Fires’ “The Company Man” Now

One of Sub Pop’s most recent signees, Birmingham, Alabamaniacs (sorry, guys) Lee Bains III & The Glory Fires, have just spilled the proverbial beans regarding their Sub Pop debut, Dereconstructed. Specifically, these beans reveal that the record will come out on May 27th, 2014. What’s more, the band also just premiered “The Company Man”, side one, track one of that record, with Paste Magazine (also available to your ears in this very blog post), who boasted of the track that it’s “a fitting follow up to 2012’s excellent There is a Bomb in Gilead”. We couldn’t agree more, in fact, it’s why we signed them.

Pre-order Dereconstructed from Sub Pop and you’ll receive a limited edition LBIII+GF patch. Speaking of limited, if you pre-order the record on vinyl, you’ll receive the colored-vinyl Loser Edition of the LP. As is the nature with limited things, order soon to get yours! Also available for pre-order over at iTunes, too.

What People Are Saying About Lee Bains III & The Glory Fires Dereconstructed:
“Lee Bains III & the Glory Fires, a four-man band from Alabama, proudly join the Southern-rock tradition of wild-eyed music hitched to serious deliberation. Dereconstructed, the band’s second album, ponders Southern identity in a welter of cranked-up guitars, bristling drums and rasping, hollering vocals. It’s pandemonium with a conscience.” -  New York Times

“If there’s one tradition Bains and the Glory Fires unquestioningly uphold, it’s the Friday-night custom of burning down the house. They even once got thrown out of a club for being too loud. In Texas. ‘We’re going to wash ourselves in fire and water,’ Bains announces in ‘Burnpiles and Swimming Holes.’ Dereconstructed is worth the plunge.” - NPR Music

“As pure a shot of adrenaline as a guitar band will release this year…  a terrific album.” [4 / 5 stars] - The Guardian

“Sounds like Flannery O’Connor gave up fiction for a Coors and a Gibson SG.” -  Rolling Stone

“A radical, literate update of Southern rock.” -  UNCUT

“A raging burnpile of garage and Southern rock, dirty, supercharged blues and soul, Stonesy groove, Crazy Horse howl, and punk slam. With these songs, Bains surely wants to make you think; he surely will make you shake.” -  The Boston Globe

“Four Birmingham boys have made what might be the greatest-ever rock record about the South.”  - The Bitter Southerner
