Sub Pop’s third annual 20’s Plenty Holiday Sale is quickly approaching its end, and if you haven’t heard about it yet, you’re doing a remarkable job of ignoring us (kudos to you, sometimes I wish I could ignore us), because we’ve been pretty loud about the money that we are desperately trying to save you by convincing you that now’s the time to spend all of it at our online store. So, before your opportunity to magically turn your money into long-playing Sub Pop records at the greatly discounted rate of 20% off goes away for another year, we wanted to tell you about a pretty special fact: not only is EVERYTHING THAT WE SELL 20% OFF WHEN YOU SPEND $20 OR MORE, but all five of the 2014 Sub Pop records that we currently have available for pre-order are 20% off, too! Future records available at the sale price of today! Now, I’m not sure if you know how stock options work, but this is essentially what’s happening here. Invest like a CEO, pick up brand new records at an appreciable discount from Mogwai, The Notwist, Death Vessel, THUMPERS, and Dum Dum Girls, and shop the rest of our sale here.
Dum Dum Girls’ hotly anticipated new album, Too True, is slated for a January 28th, 2014 release, and Dee Dee and Co. are bringing the new record live to a bevy of stages throughout the lands to keep you warm all winter long.
If you pre-order Too True, you’ll receive a limited-edition bonus 7” for the album track “Rimbaud Eyes” with an unreleased b-side called “Girls Intuition”. Speaking of limited things, if you pre-order the vinyl LP, you’ll receive the limited, colored-vinyl Loser Edition of Too True. And such is the nature of limited-edition things, when they’re gone they’re gone, so order soonish!

In terms of good days for fans and future fans of the Dum Dum Girls, there are few better days than today. Why? Excellent question, blog reader. Today, we at Sub Pop have announced DDG’s third full length record, Too True, due out on January 28th. And while this alone is cause enough for celebration, there’s more to stoke the flames of excitement: in conjunction with the clothes-maker H&M, Dum Dum Girls have created an amazing video for the Too True album track “Lost Boys and Girls Club”, a beautifully haunting song whose melody will be replaying in your head for the coming days. You can check out that video in the blog embed.
In addition to the new Dum Dum Girls record on the horizon, a new track, and a new video, Too True is now available for pre-order on CD and limited, Loser Edition LP. If you pre-order from SubPop.com, you’ll receive a limited-edition bonus 7” featuring the album track, “Rimbaud Eyes”, and the non-album b-side, “Girls Intuition” (currently unavailable elsewhere). And as is the case with all limited-edition things, both the Loser Edition colored-vinyl LP and the bonus 7-inch single are a first come, first served type of deal. That means order now.
