Hoodies are back!

In mock-celebration of an obscenely cold winter, we decided to restock our hooded-sweatshirt warehouse in both the zip-up and pullover styles. At $30, these will most likely sell out again, so yeah, do your torso a huge solid and buy one!

Celebrate Two Dudes Day With Sub Pop

Today is the release date for the surpassingly excellent Keep Your Eyes Ahead by The Helio Sequence. Those two dudes played on KEXP this morning at 9:30 AM (I know, right!), and will be playing at the Easy Street Records on Queen Anne this evening at 7pm. If you live in Seattle you should attend. It is free and will be sweet. Easy Street is having a huge sale so you probably need to get over there anyway.

And then, in further two-dude news, No Age play The Showbox tonight before the Liars and after Past Lives. If you’re lucky enough to live in Seattle you should also attend that.

In other words, Happy Two-Dudes Tuesday.

Oh glory! A new Helio Sequence record for you to buy!

January, 29th marks the day of Sub Pop’s first release of 2008, courtesy of Portland’s The Helio Sequence. It’s been nearly four years since we’ve heard from Brandon and Benjamin and we couldn’t possibly be more excited about what they’ve come up with! It’s scientifically unpossible! Keep Your Eyes Ahead is the band’s best release to date – the wait has been totally worth it. Know what else? If you pre-order Keep Your Eyes Ahead by January, 29th on CD or LP, we’re going to throw in a CDR containing b-sides and outtakes from the record that we’re not-so-creatively calling B-Sides and Outtakes. Plus, you fortunate pre-orderers will also receive the band-related stickers and buttons that we’re forever patting ourselves on the back for including in our on-line orders. It’s an embarrassment of riches, we know.

Pick it up right here.

Pandering to the Locals January ‘08

So my boss just comes over to my desk and says to me, “Lacey, are you going to do a new Pandering? It’s a new year and we need a new Pandering, right?” You know what I say? It’s time for a new name for this piece of shit column and I need some serious help coming up with something clever/not dumb. I know some people read this thing from time to time so please help me out and I will reward the winning name with some Sub Pop junk such as a tshirt or a tote bag or something.

Speaking of Sub Pop, the new Helio Sequence record is so good that it’s the only thing we’re putting out this month. Seriously. Go here to check it out and purchase it. I’m pretty sure we’re giving away a bonus disc with some outtakes, etc., but one of my resolutions for 2008 was to not remember anything, so, you know, I’m not sure.

Hey, Sub Pop is going to the Sundance Film Festival in a few weeks and we’re having a party at the Star Bar on the 18th so come by if you’re in town. There will be performances from The Helio Sequence, Kelley Stoltz, and Daniel Martin Moore plus loads and loads of celebrities and snow. See you on the slopes, suckers.

Eugene Mirman on Comedy Central and the campaign trail!

We have news from our esteemed colleague Eugene Mirman!

This news:

You can watch my Comedy Central Presents Friday night February 1st. Like a campaign rally, you can get together with your friends and watch my inspiring words. But unlike a campaign rally, I won’t be revealing my plan for America. Instead, I will be telling jokes for a half hour.

I went to New Hampshire this last week and covered the primaries for Here’s the video again, but on youtube. The video holds many treats, including Chuck Norris. Don’t forget to blog about it.

Plus, we have some new tour dates for Eugene! Those are here

Did you ever buy Eugene’s wonderful CD+DVD that we put out? If not, you should! It’s called En Garde, Society!. If you already did buy it, thank you! Seriously!
