Today, Friday, August 21st, 2026 – free from the shackles of timeliness, Sub Pop is belatedly sharing details about our two new retail locations here in Seattle: the recently opened Sub Pop Waterfront located, not at all coincidentally, on Seattle’s magnificent new waterfront, and Sub Pop in the KEXP Gathering Space at Seattle Center, in the Lower Queen Anne neighborhood.

 
Sub Pop Waterfront, located in the Maritime Building directly across from Colman Dock (the WA State Ferries terminal) on the Seattle waterfront, features a dazzling array of t-shirts, hats, hoodies, various knick-knacks, trinkets, and objets d’art conspicuously emblazoned with the words “Sub Pop,” as well as a wide selection of actual records (vinyl LPs, CDs, probably some cassettes!), a bunch of really nice music and art-themed books, and fascinating Sub Pop Records ephemera on display throughout.

Our new home in the world-renowned KEXP Gathering Space has been expanded and redesigned, and now resides along the south wall of the space. In it, you’ll find a hand-picked selection of our expansive collection of the previously mentioned Sub Pop-branded merch (mostly shirts, hats, flannels, sweatshirts, and the like) and a wide array of vinyl records, both new and used, some released by Sub Pop or Hardly Art, and others that were not. Plus, there’s a Caffe Vita coffee shop in the KEXP Gathering Space and even public restrooms! 

 
On Saturday, August 22nd, Sub Pop in the KEXP Gathering Space will be open to ticket holders attending the sold-out KEXP BBQ 2026, which includes performances from Ty Segall, Arlo Parks, Angine De Poitrine, Los Mirlos, Packaging, and Sea Lemon. There will also be sets from KEXP DJs, activities for the whole family to enjoy, food from local vendors for purchase, exclusive merch for sale, and a bar (with ID). These new retail locations have opened in the wake of the closures of Sub Pop’s (we’re assured…) widely beloved former retail locations at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, and our former Seattle Belltown location on 7th Ave. The Sub Pop Waterfront Store is located at 908 Alaskan Way, Seattle, WA 98104. Sub Pop in the KEXP Gathering Space is located at 472 1st Ave N, Seattle, WA 98109 (both stores are open 10 am-6 pm daily).
