Also on the band’s YouTube channel today you’ll find the new fan video for the song “Dance Floor” from Niki & The Dove’s recent mix tape. This video was just made public and as we mentioned, it can be found on the band’s YouTube channel along with a whole host of other great videos. You should probably get over to their channel right away and explore.
We’ve mentioned this before as well, but Niki & The Dove’s forthcoming release, Instinct, is available now over at iTunes and will be available on CD / 2xLP August 7th via Sub Pop. Also worth noting again, though, is that those of you who pre-order Instinct first from subpop.com (and before August 7th!), will not only receive a limited Niki & The Dove tote bag but completed pre-orders for vinyl LP, will also potentially get the limited, Sub Pop Loser Edition version—a colored-vinyl copy of the record, in this case, it’s on crystal-clear colored-vinyl. Both of these offers are in limited supply, so first come, first serve. In other words, order soon!
Finally, in touring news, Niki & The Dove will embark on their first-ever US tour to support Instinct, and this run of dates will begin and ends in Los Angeles, CA, including a September 2nd appearance in Seattle, WA at Bumbershoot Music and Arts Festival. We’ve listed the full list of tour dates below.

Bliten Trapper’s newest video directed by Daniel Elkayam (Blitzen Trapper’s “Black River Killer” & “The Tree”) is a heartfelt and poignant video for American Golwing’s track, “Girl in a Coat”, which stars the band’s drummer Brian Koch and his grandfather, Arthur Koch. Brian Koch, who also wrote and produced the video, stated, "Four years ago I interviewed my grandfather at the age of 96 to talk about his life. I was struck by how, even though so much had become blurry, confused or completely fallen away from his memory, some things remained. Just shy of his 100th birthday, Daniel and I began to create a video from my grandfather’s perspective, blurring the boundaries of time and space in memory. “Girl In A Coat,” with its wearied narrative of retrospection, seemed the perfect match for the concept."
Blitzen Trapper are currently on a headline tour supporting American Goldwing and will immediately follow-up their late summer tour to act as main support for labelmates The Head and The Heart, for a tour that will begin on September 18th in Spokane, WA at Knitting Factory and wrap up October 10th in Eugene, OR at the McDonald Theatre. The band’s complete tour schedule is listed below.
Additionally, fans will be able to stream Blitzen Trapper’s upcoming set at the Newport Folk Fest on July 27th, via NPR. More details on that event available on the NPR website.

Four years after releasing her widely acclaimed Sub Pop debut Only as the Day Is Long, Sera Cahoone is back, and readying the release of her third solo effort, Deer Creek Canyon, scheduled for September 25th, 2012. The 12-track album was co-produced by Cahoone and Thom Monahan (Beachwood Sparks, Vetiver) at Bear Creek Studios. The album features the lead single, “Naked,” (conveniently available for download in the player located above) alongside other album standouts, “Worry All Your Life,” and “And We Still Move”.
Titled for the Colorado canyon where she came of age, where her mother still lives, Deer Creek Canyon ruminates on the gravitational pull of home and delves deeper and with a voice remarkably stronger than on Sera’s previous albums. Read more about Sera and Deer Creek Canyon here.
