Seattle’s Capitol Hill Block Party takes place the weekend of July 28-30, and this year’s edition promises to be a doozy. Here are a few reasons why:

The Helio Sequence play Friday, July 28th on the Main Stage at 5:45 pm!

Band of Horses play Friday, July 28th on the Main Stage at 8:15 pm!

Tall Birds (3 of the 4 former Catheters, who we’ll be releasing a 7" single by on Sept. 12) play Friday, July 28th on the Vera Stage at 4:00 pm!

AND! The Murder City Devils are reuniting for this one show and playing Saturday, July 29th on the Main Stage at 9:45! There’s some more info on the Devils’ reunion on their Myspace page here.

Yeah, it should be super fun…

And, as it happens, tickets are still available. More on that from Tickets West. You can also buy tickets in person, and w/o a service charge from either the Bad Juju Lounge (open 3:30pm – 1am) or the Neumo’s box office (open from 7pm on any show day).

Here’s some info on the Block Party from their website:

The Capitol Hill Block Party is a huge, two-day explosion of bands and a unique combination of Seattle Music Community forces including The Stranger, 90.3 KEXP, 107.7 The End, The Vera Project, Neumo’s, Fuzed Music and Home Alive, bringing together the best music from the country’s hottest music scene into the Northwest’s biggest celebration of independent music, art and progressive culture. Partial proceeds from The Block Party benefit Home Alive and The Vera Project. The Vendor section is made up of local independent businesses, indie crafts people, local artists, and various non-profit and political groups.
