BEACH HOUSE

Teen Dream - SP845

6096

Recorded in upstate New York, in a converted church called Dreamland with producer/engineer Chris Coady (who has worked with TV on the Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Blonde Redhead, and a bunch of others) Teen Dream is the third album from the Baltimore-based duo Beach House, and their Sub Pop debut. The new album gives voice to a full universe of unbridled imagination, and the manifestation of Teen Dream has been a welcomed and all-consuming obsession for Beach House the past 9-12 months. Both the CD and LP formats of Teen Dream will arrive packaged with a companion DVD featuring a video for each song on the album, each by a different director.

1) Yeah, where’s the stream?
2) Do you get a free MP3 download with the album also?

by Ryan @ January 7, 2010, 8:50 PM

Hey Ryan

You should have received a link to the stream when you pre-ordered the record. I’ll email it to you in just a sec.

And, yep, the LP does come with a download coupon for free mp3s of all of the tracks on the album.

Thanks!

Scrapbook??

It mentions that the limited edition scrapbook will be available through the pre-order and a select few independent record stores..if i may inquire, what stores have been selected (easy street?!)

Thanks!

Great work you guys.

Great work you guys. I love the record. Zebra is the best song I’ve heard in years.

by Tenderfoot @ January 18, 2010, 11:45 AM

Seriously??

$9 to ship this record? 18 is already alot for a record, you don’t need to make so much profit from ‘shipping’. Guess I will find it ‘elsewhere’.

by Ian @ January 18, 2010, 6:46 PM

John

^^ $18 isn’t a lot for a double LP?

by plazzTT @ January 19, 2010, 7:22 AM

Mr Ian...

You really think they make a profit from shipping? You’re nuts!

$18 is cheap for a 2x 180g LP, and $27 including shipment is cheap as hell. I live in Sweden, and it’s cheaper than if I’d buy it in store.

And also, a perfectly good album is invaluble :- )

Cheers

Support

Support the artists man! This is good stuff. Really unique sound. I enjoy this thoroughly.

by Spanker @ January 22, 2010, 11:47 PM

BUY IT

Creativity of this caliber deserves recognition. I could have easily torrented this album for free, but I choose to pay the sixteen bucks for the CD because it really is worth it.

If you are on the fence about buying this album, I hope this comment is enough to push you over the edge and get you to order it. You will not be disappointed.

by cambonator @ January 23, 2010, 7:39 PM

Are there any scrapbooks left?

Or did 500 people already pre-order?

by yorimochi @ January 24, 2010, 11:34 AM

500 People?!

Just pre-ordered this here cause it said I’d definitely get a scrapbook, but what the heck over here (http://www.subpop.com/channel/megamart_features/jan_26th_beach_house_afcgt_retribution_gospel_choir) it says that only the first 500 people will get one. Wish I had known that…(was originally planning on buying it at my friendly local record store for a couple bucks less). Basically if I’m not in the first 500 I’ll be pissed. This page has misinformed me.

by Assman1229 @ January 24, 2010, 3:21 PM

CAN SOMEONE REPLY?!

If we’re not the first 500 to pre-order, can we still get the scrapbook or not?! gahhh

by yorimochi @ January 24, 2010, 5:16 PM

Sound Garden

Just got this earlier today (2 days early!) at the local Sound Garden in Baltimore. Brilliant album.

by nuclearjello @ January 24, 2010, 7:37 PM

first 500??

Hi, I bought 2 cds and 1 lp last week before the 500 first people announcement were made. Me and my friends bought the album here because we wanted to have that special thing and that what we expect. That’s what your website said then, buy it here and you’ll get the scrapbook.

Please, someone who can ensure us something?

It's the 26th...

Why can’t I buy this digitally?

by 1stephy @ January 26, 2010, 8:47 AM

no DVD in my double LP

I have the coupon for the MP3s and a poster in the sleeve, but no DVD. Should I take this back to the record store (Cheapo, Mpls) or was there a version without the DVD?

by wrongjohn @ January 26, 2010, 11:59 PM

Wednesday

I pre-ordered the CD/DVD package this past weekend; the album has been out for 2 days now and I still don’t have it…what’s up

by Joe @ January 27, 2010, 6:03 PM

Gaps between tracks

Dunno about the digital files available here on Sub Pop’s site, but the digital version available thru Amazon has 2-second gaps between each track, some of them rather jarring. Maybe someone @ SP can remedy this and reup this terrific album as it was meant to be heard…?

by rbnhth @ January 29, 2010, 8:24 AM
