This Sunday, June 17th is the premiere episode of Flight of the Conchords’ new HBO series. It’s on at 10:30 pm (aka Entourage) and you should watch it! You should watch it because is is very funny, and also because we hope this show will be very popular and we will sell just obscene quantities of their as-yet-untitled forthcoming album due out in October and also perhaps less than obscene but hopefully at least filthy amounts of their new EP…

Somewhat unbelievably, though no less deservedly, Flight of the Conchords won an actual Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album the other night! For a record (The Distant Future) that we, here at Sub Pop, released!
Whoa!
Ever since David Cross’s Shut Up, You Fucking Baby lost to Weird Al’s Poodle Hat album back in ‘04, we kinda figured we’d never win one. But, maybe David just shouldn’t have used the word “Fucking” in the title of his album?

Season 2 of the Flight of the Conchords HBO TV show begins this Sunday night, January 18th! And, in a radical, full-body, immodest embrace of modern technology, we will be releasing, through the iTunes music store, one song from each episode on the Monday morning after that episode airs!
So, for example, on Monday, January 19th, you will be able to purchase the Flight of the Conchords song [spoiler alert!] “Angels,” from the previous night’s Season 2 premiere.

The folks at HBO just put together an “In the Studio” video with Flight of the Conchords. And, it is well worth your time not only because of its candid glimpse of Jemaine and Bret’s artistic process, but also because it is an entertaining, and often funny, piece of promotional flimflam for the show, our forthcoming Flight of the Conchords album, and this thing we’re doing where we’re selling a new song from the show ea.
