The new Loney, Dear record, Loney, Noir is Sub Pop’s first release with Swedish multi-instrumentalist and home-recording phenom Emil Svanängen.
As such, it’s also our first opportunity to provide Emil with the top-notch production services and quality control for which we are, in certain circles, occasionally somewhat well-known.

This quote is printed along the spine of the compilation pictured above, Sub Pop 100_. The other day Sub Pop’s long-departed founder Bruce Pavitt came by and, with the help of Green River’sriver Mark Arm and the tremendously amiable and funny Tad, chatted us all up on the label’s beginnings. He brought some records with him to pass around, and Sub Pop 100 was one of them. It was really fun; grunge was pretty bitchen’.

March is full of all sorts of things. There’s St. Patricks Day, of course, and the beginning of spring, amongst ‘em. And, after the unusually harsh and seemingly unending winter we weather-pussies here in the Northwest have endured, we’ll seize any opportunity to drink green beer.
Speaking of opportunities to drink anything and everything, for days on end, and to have the same conversation 4,000 times in 4 days…
Sub Pop will be heading to the lovely shire that is Austin, Texas…
