Grunge died along with Kurt Cobain
by kamalsutra @ October 12, 2009, 5:47 PM
Is grunge dead? Not at Camden's Koko it wasn't!
It certainly didn’t sound dead on Sunday 11th October, when I saw Mudhoney live at the Koko in Camden, London.
The only thing that died that night was my hearing for a few hours but it was well worth it!
They blasted out some top ear-bleeders, old and new. Opening with The Money Will Roll Right in, followed by 3 tracks off The Lucky Ones. They played Blinding Sun, Let It Slide and Good Enough as well as some of the classics from Superfuzz Bigmuff. Hard On For War was one of the more up-to-date classics that featured.
They still got it – don’t keep it outta my face!
by Saddleback @ October 13, 2009, 11:09 AM
swear i just heard kurt sat night
Went and saw a band at Rockos in everett this past saturday and swear the lead singer was kurts reincarnate. Cant remember there name but they were from tacoma but were absolutely grunge.

Mitosis
It definitely did not die with Kurt Cobain. For some reason everybody says that…Kurt wasn’t the embodiment of Grunge. There were plenty of other Grunge bands out there besides Nirvana, and have been plenty of them since.
Thanks Grungierthanthough, i checked out that band and they rocked. Made a fan out of me.
by Mitosis @ October 29, 2009, 6:12 AM

Grunge shall live throughout time forever. History repeats itself. Grunge will blow up again.
@Grungerthanthough & Mitosis, that band is pretty cool. More chains than nirvana imo. pretty sweet.
by Anavrin_Embodiment @ November 3, 2009, 1:11 AM
Grunge in the afterlife
Put this on your unicorn & ride it through the rain forest because nothing dies according to Sasha, grunge is only transformed…while Kurt brings us to Seattle.

I swear i thought grunge was dead too! For the longest time…i remember after staley died i thought it was done for good. I listened to that Mudfish band and they rock!!! Anyone who loves grunge as much as i do go listen to that band!
by Jacktheripper @ November 3, 2009, 2:01 PM
the label yes, but not the music.
The label is done dead and murdered but the music and the emotion that was labelled "grunge"is still alive and always will. Here are words from Mark Arm, “What a silly thing to say, to pronounce any kind of music dead, you either have to be really ignorant, arrogant or a combination of the two to make such a proclaimation. As long as somebody is still doing something along those lines of music it still lives. Even if its only a a small group of people who give a shit.”
I rest my case.
Check this band out.

You are death… gruge is like disco.. will never died.
Style could died… music never… that’s most important that a simple stupid concept. Gruge is just marketing… we want music.
What is the most important thing… MUSIC… KC give us his music… not fucking grunge… who want grunge.
Not me.
by FORASTIBI @ June 25, 2010, 2:16 AM

Grunge died in 1992..
Right after Nevermind hit #1..
OK, it didn’t die, but a lot of other really good grunge bands that DIDN’T sound like Nirvana, Perl Jam or Soundgarden were drowned out by all the me-too bands that were no where near as good.
by Rev. Spaminator @ September 17, 2010, 5:09 PM
are you serious!!!!??
Grunge was an essence of Nirvanas brilliance, it’s the legacy Nirvana left untold, it will once more be found…. Grunge will --NEVER—— die!!! Edward- from Grunge band SURTIDES… see you all soon!:]

by fucknuckle @ April 18, 2011, 8:24 PM
It's not dead
It will never die as long as people keep listing to it and bying CD’s and records. But I will alawys agree with Kurt when he said its better to burn out then fade away. I would much rather see grunge burn out then fade away.

It will SOOOOOOOO never die!!!
Dude, it will obviously never die. Or else kids like me who were born when it was famous who aren’t from the northwest who didn’t find out about it until the mid 2000s who didn’t know it was famous and that anyone else had ever heard of it, yet instantly fell in love with it and knew it just totally and completely defined them wouldn’t be saving up money and practicing guitar in order to move up there and form grunge bands. DON’T WORRY PEOPLE, THE SPIRIT OF THE 90S LIVES WITHIN ME!!!
by KristinNirvana @ October 25, 2011, 1:42 AM
not dead
Grunge is like coachroaches…… they will never die even with a nuclear war….but it will have to find a way to reproduce its self. and it will come back because all these kids like me have found out about it in the mid 2000s and will make bands like those bands…..just like punk and metal will never die….right now we have crappy “post” grunge but there are crappy newer punk bands…..soon there will be more grunge maybe even a new form of grunge
by Grunge_69 @ October 25, 2011, 1:08 PM
