Are you serious? These idiots were the worst act on T&G and make terrible music. They were without question the worst part of T&G’s 25th anniversary party. With such incredible, viable talent out there, this is who you guys sign? I’m sorry, but as a loyal Sub Pop fan I have to say something. I just threw up in my own lap. Wow.

I would like to be your new A&R guru. Clearly whoever’s at the helm right now isn’t working out.

Let’s be honest here. The only people who like this shit are girls aged 14-25 who love snowboarding and “listening to all kinds of music(giggle)”. running a label in these tough times means putting out music that will sell. Who would of thought Warp records would be putting out indie rock like Grizzly Bear and Maximo Park? This was a label that was known for only putting out cutting edge electronic music, but hey look at them now. Raking in the bucks! I don’t agree with the signing and I am not a fan of coco rosie. However I can safely say that any money invested will turn a profit. Hence more sub pop releases from the other bands that are part of the roster.

Poeple divided, well, i can say that they have been a band. A band in the history and culture of music, and that’s a real fact, and that it also did touched a generation which where in deep musical trouble so it was empty and uncreative. Big up to cocorosie.

So i am not a teenage girl, But i happend to think CocoRosie are quite amazing. Working with critically acclaimed Antony Hegarty, as well as mixing Hip Hop, Beatboxing, Electronic, Opera, as well as many other Genres together, one might actually try and listen to the music instead of judging what you may see or hear from others. Sup pop not only has been signing other bands outside the Typical Indie sound but they seem to be bringing in some new talent to add the the long list of great artists. If you do not like it Do not buy it. But i will be ! Thanks Ladies!

Love cocorosie. Am excited but I have a question. Why the fuck are people still talking about Grizzly Bear? The first record was about as boring as watching an ant trying to hump another ant. The second was slightly better but still pretty wanky. I could not be arsed to listen to the third. Cocorosie either make music for really smart people or complete dumbasses (I haven’t figure out which I am yet. Probably the latter.) Either way they are always interesting.

That’s the best thing you HAVE EVER DONE. CocoRosie is my favorite band and their make happy and wonderfull music. This is art. Boring people could not understand, but you should know how good they are. Do not stop to signs it.

For all I know the Cocorosie ladies are wonderful, caring people and I do not know them personally. On the other hand, they make and market music to the public. I totally agree with e.small. There’s already so much negativity floating around, and it’s not doing any good. We should be able to respect people that step forward creatively, even if we can’t find common ground in the results. I respect everyone that works hard, looks within and finds a way of expressing themselves… and then connects with others.

Ofcourse everyone is entitled to an opinion and a place to voice those opinions. I think it would be appreciated though if it was done with the decency everyone deserves.

What gave them the clout to be able to sign “nice” bands like The Shins and Postal Service? It sure the hell wasn’t decency. It was banned artwork on Tad albums, drugged out freaks like The Dwarves and last I checked, had nothing at all to do with decency(though it did have something to do with a little band called Nirvana, also not decent). Clear the pot smoke out of your head and get serious. Have you ever even heard a Pissed Jeans record, Asshole? Seriously, Cocorosie fans, be excited! Your band got signed to an incredible label with rich history, just like the now defunct label they were formerly on. However, your need for “nice” should not infringe on my right to curse on the ever lovin’ internets. Toodles!

Usually in the form of the slutty one ditching her latest beau or something to appease Bea Arthur. That analogy went all weird, but hey – it’s different musical tastes that pretty much attracted us to this label in the first place :)

CocoRosie is not your a-typical band…obvoiusly not too many ppl are open to raw art…real art is hard to appreciate.

this is one of the first bands that have mixed more than 5 different genres of music at the same time.. if you want to talk about guitars and a lot of distorsion and people screamin thinkin that they’re doing music NOT.. its noise..
this is art. and it is NEW and revolutionary.
