The Fruit Bats love a good charity and they love hanging out in Hawaii. Those lucky bastards will be indulging both of those passions next weekend when they perform at a benefit concert at the Hard Rock Cafe in Waikiki, HI. The event is Saturday, April 30th and will raise money for Hui o Ko’olaupoko who’s mission is: To protect ocean health by restoring the `aina: mauka to makai. I’m not clear exactly how one accomplishes these magical goals but apparently it’s done in partnership with stakeholders including interested citizens, non-governmental organizations, government, educational institutions and businesses while using and focusing on sound ecological principles, community input, and cultural heritage. Below are links to their site as well as their facebook event page.
