The Yo-Yos / Uppers and Downers - SP510

  • 1942
  • 2106

We Americans seem to like our British one of two ways: loud, drunken, tattooed and disorderly or quiet, effete, introverted and dour. The Yo-Yo's fall into the former category. Fronted by former Wildhearts' bassist/singer Danny McCormack (who, for some reason the English press are forever referring to as "Geordie"…), The Yo-Yo's are fresh from their first US tour (with the Backyard Babies). Uppers and Downers is the debut full-length from these English hooligans; combining equal parts Beach Boys-esque harmonies and the punk rock vigor of The Ramones and/or The Clash.
