They parted ways and went on to new projects. Pernice stayed with Sub Pop in Pernice Brothers and Chappaquiddick Skyline.
DATE FORMED:
1990
HOW FORMED:
They knocked out country-flavored tunes while sitting around the kitchen table. They stuck with it until what started as intimate gigs grew into a larger following.
HIGHLIGHT:
National interest in the band grew quickly with their 1995 release, “Dance the Night Away,” which added a few rock songs into the mix along with their lo-fi recordings.
<!—QUOTE:
“Storytelling with an acoustic guitar. This type of expression is as old as the hills that the Scud Mountain Boys take their name for; they take their inspiration as much from hooky ’70s AM pop as from the dirty country road of Johnny Cash.” – James Keast
