FLASH BULB EMERGENCY OVERFLOW CAVALCADE OF REMIXES
Oh for the love of background information: Pigeonhed's The Full Sentence (released January 97) was the second studio collaboration between Seattle-ites Steve Fisk (Pacific Northwest legend, member of Pell Mell, collaborations with Nirvana & Soundgarden, but perhaps most revered for his production work with Beat Happening and the first four Screaming Trees records) and Shawn Smith (vocalist for Brad- a band that includes Pearl Jam's Stone Gossard- and as the soulful singer/instrumentalist of Satchel).

While both Fisk and Smith are celebrated nationally for their contributions to the Northwest music scene, they set aside their rock inclinations when in Pigeonhed mode. Both on their eponymous 1993 debut and this year's full-length follow up, the duo mixed up a superb combination of beats & grooves; an organic fusion of brooding soul a la Stevie Wonder united with DMX-ified funk.

"Imagine Trent Reznor talented; put him in a room with Prince, Al Green, and Sly Stone. R&B, industrial, rock, hip-hop, live instruments and machines all jell into one of the coolest, sliest discs heard in a long while. The title track is the wet dream Prince used to have when he could still give the world a woody."

Pigeonhed's Flash Bulb Emergency Overflow Cavalcade of Remixes (or P.F.B.E.O.C.R. as we affectionately call the record) features some very "hot", "hip", and "happenin'" remix teams. Although several of these remixes were featured on the limited edition 12" releases from earlier this year, there are also a few previously unreleased gems here for the serious Pigeonhed or dance fanatic.
